Math Start is a series of 8 educational puzzles with gradual progression, designed for children who want to learn about numbers and quantities, addition and subtraction. They can explore the material at their own pace and find the right answers.
The puzzles have large, thick pieces that are easy to hold, and each piece only fits in the correct place. We begin by introducing numbers and quantities from 1–10, and every time a piece falls into place, it brings joy and a sense of accomplishment.
The addition sign with numbers and quantities from 0 - 10
This puzzle is designed to teach about the addition sign. Beneath two goats on the frame, only the piece with + one goat fits. Beneath the goats, only the piece with the equation 2 + 1 fits. In the same way, there is a puzzle for learning about the subtraction sign. Without the children realizing they are working on developing their skills, they have fun puzzling.
Addition with numbers and quantities from 0 - 10
This puzzle has 20 pieces: 10 pieces with simple addition problems in the number range 0–10, and 10 pieces with the answers to the equations.
On the frame above the pieces are funny dinosaur heads in quantities that symbolize the equations. First, the pieces with the equations are placed under the symbols, and then the pieces with the answers. All the pieces have slightly different shapes. Even though they look alike, they only fit in the correct place.
Children like to do the same puzzles many times — it goes faster each time, and they will remember what they have learned. The package also contains a corresponding puzzle with subtraction.
